Dear friends!

The UNESCO Chair Oriental and African Studies: The Contemporary Methods of Study and Teaching at the Institute of Asian and African Studies, Lomonosov Moscow State University (IAAS MSU) offers two-year master’s degree courses on the educational programme The Orient and Russia (Comparative Studies).  The Chair is a subdivision simultaneously of the IAAS MSU and the international network of UNESCO Chairs. The Chair aims to unite the study of Asian and African countries seamlessly with the practical development of the dialogue of civilizations. During the two years of pursuing M.A. studies, students intensively learn the Russian language in which they listen to the lectures, give talks at seminars, and write and defend the dissertation. Various courses taught at the Chair are grouped into 4 thematical blocks: Russian studies, Civilizations, International relations and geopolitics, and Comparative studies. All together these blocks aim to give students an adequate understanding of the contemporary world and its threats. Apart from an MSU diploma M.A. students of the Chair have the opportunity to get a certificate from the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE). There exists an agreement on cooperation between the IAAS and that structure. The Chair has already made two graduations (2019 and 2020). Enter the UNESCO Chair at the IAAS MSU! We shall be glad to see you.

Best wishes,

Dilyara Medehatovna Solodovnik
